UpSource Ltd offer consultation and project management services separately. If you obtain a consultation service from UpSource for a project, there is no requirement to use UpSource Ltd for the management of that project. In the same way, UpSource Ltd can also manage projects without first offering consultation services for that project.

Customers who choose to use UpSource Ltd for both consultation and project management stages will receive a discount from the combined cost of both services.

Consultation services

When you ask for IT consultation services, you should expect independant advice from a technically qualified person, but that's not always what you get. Often when small businesses obtain IT consultation services, they find themselves dealing with someone who acts as a sales representative for a single company or has partnership deals with a limited selection of suppliers.

UpSource Ltd does not take any commision or fee from any supplier of hardware, software, office equipment or internet service, so you can be confident that our recommendations are based solely on the needs of your business and that the solution we recommend contains only the products and services that we believe are the most suitable, appropriate and cost-effective to meet those needs. Our promise to you is that we will never sell you a product or service that you won't use, and we'll never oversell the capability or potential of any of the products or services that we do recommend.

At UpSource Ltd, we believe that the role of a consultant is to provide independent and impartial advice and provide the best possible solution in terms of performance and value from any supplier. The role of the consultant should be to offer you the best solution, not try to find out what they can sell you out of the limited products and services they offer. If you require consultation and advice, you'll be dealing with a technical professional who has experience in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and support of IT systems.

When you obtain consultation services from UpSource Ltd, our fee is charged based on the time we spend doing theconsultancy services, not on the costs of the project itself. For example, regardless of whether we conclude that your network needs a basic file server that just runs on Windows Server 2003, a medium specification server running Microsoft Small Business Server, or a top of the range multi-processor RAID 5 server running the full Microsoft BackOffice Suite, the price you pay for the consultation will be the same.

Project Management services

IT projects can be extremely complex, even those for the smallest of businesses. Often the project will require the skills of several different people from a number of companies and the project will require a number of stages to be completed in the correct sequence to be successful. Technical buzzwords and jargon can be unfamiliar and confusing to non-technical people, however a single simple mistake can cause long delays and extra expense.

For example: Would you select a NAT or non-NAT modem from your ISP for the NAT firewall supplied by your hardware stockist?
