Training services

The importance of staff training.

With the increasing reliance of smaller business on IT systems, it has been proven that a key aspect for the successful and profitable operation of such businesses is the ability of staff to use these systems efficiently. IT systems represent a substantial investment and the most effective way to achieve a return on that investment is to ensure that staff are well trained in the use of their equipment and in common business software applications such as Windows and Microsoft Office.

Even staff who are extremely proficient in the use of an older version of a particular software application may find that newer versions come with a completely different interface in which tools they previously used frequently are not located in the same place or may be missing. Newer versions of software applications, such as Microsoft Office, may even come with numerous time-saving features that they are unfamiliar with and do not use, even though these features could greatly increase their productivity.

UpSource Ltd Training services

UpSource Ltd training services are designed to maximise the performance, productivity and motivation levels in staff. Our training packages can teach staff how to:

  • Use basic features to gain confidence with the software and its interface.
  • Use built-in Wizards to produce professional results quickly and easily.
  • Automate mundane repetitive tasks using templates, styles, formatting and macros.
  • Use advanced tools and features to greatly boost productivity.
  • Import different types of data created in different programs- text, charts, tables, databases, hyperlinks, etc - in a single application to produce the best results.

Each of our training packages is customised to your business' needs. If your staff need to know how to use Microsoft Access databases, but not how to use the building tools, the training will only focus on the use of databases. If you need your staff to know how to use mail merge and auto-format in Microsoft Word, but not how to create websites, then the content will reflect that.

Choose your training level

Courses are available at three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

Beginner courses assume that the trainee has little or no knowledge of the program, and start by explaining the core functions such as openning and closing the program, creating new files, saving files, opening saved files, entering data etc, before going on to explain the core features and tools of the program.

Intermediate courses assume that the trainee is familiar with the basics of the program, and offers a brief description and explanation of the core features and tools before going on to the main features and tools of the program.

Advanced courses assume that the trainee is very familiar with the program, and concentrates on the advanced features and tools available on the program.

Choose your course format

Courses are available at three formats: Self-paced, Presentation-style and Instructor Led.

Self-paced courses are available in printed and digital formats (doc, htm and pdf formats) These courses are in textbook format and contain self-assessment questions at the end of each section - answers are included at the end of the manual. Self-paced courses are designed for individual learning and as a source of reference.

Presentation style courses are available in htm and powerpoint presentation formats. These courses are designed for group learning by an training instructor working at your business. In addition to the presentation, handouts, question and answer sheets and trainer notes are included.

Instructor Led courses are delivered in person by an UpSource Ltd trainer. The courses are presented to groups of up to 10, and each attendee is provided with a hand-out. A question and answer session is included as part of the Instructor Led course.

Due to the bespoke nature of the training courses, no prices are included for these services in the Costs and Charges section. Please contact UpSource Ltd with your requirements and we will provide a free quote for the training course based on your specifications.
